The fact is there have been great advancements in dentures in the past few decades that allow our team of doctors and lab technicians to offer a solution far superior to the dentures of yesterday.

Simply put: thanks to the efforts of the in-house lab here at South Bay Dentistry and Orthodontics, we can not only repair old dentures the same day, we can also provide you with brand new dentures the same day! Imagine coming in to our office in the morning needing new dentures and then walking out in the afternoon with brand new replacement teeth. That’s one day dentures in a nutshell.
How Do One Day Dentures Differ from Conventional Dentures?
The obvious difference between these two types of dentures is the immediacy – you’ll receive your dentures much faster with One Day Dentures, whereas with conventional dentures, there will be a healing period before permanent dentures are given to you by your dentist. But there is another very important difference – control.
Our doctors and lab team at South Bay Dentistry and Orthodontics have complete control over the denture design, fabrication, and restoration process – all within the walls of our office. Rather than wait for an outside dental lab to process your dentures, we process them. And if you select One Day Dentures as part of your dental treatment plan, you will then have your dentures fabricated while you wait. There will still be a healing period, just like conventional dentures, but you won’t be toothless or stuck with temporaries during this time.
What Can I Expect During the One Day Dentures Procedure?
During the consultation period, you and your dentist will determine your specific tooth restoration needs. Depending on the level of customization you need, One Day Dentures can provide you with both a custom look and a quick solution. If you require lots of customization, One Day Dentures may not be right for you.
Following the consultation and after determining your treatment plan, your dentist will team up with our lab team to begin designing your dentures. At this point, you will be prepped for placement. Following placement, you’ll be outfitted with brand new dentures while undergoing the healing period. During this time, you may receive a follow-up call by our office team to check-in on your progress. Keep in mind that new dentures of any kind, One Day Dentures included, may take a few weeks to get used to.
After the healing period is over and you’re used to your One Day Dentures, you’ll begin your regular visits, which will include reline appointments, to ensure your dentures always fit your jaw properly.
